Benue APC Delegates Injured in Lafia Road Accident
According to a report by Vanguard News on October 11, 2026, several delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Benue State were seriously injured after their bus was involved in a head on collision with another vehicle.
The accident reportedly happened on Saturday while the delegates were travelling to attend the party’s rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State. It occurred just a few kilometres away from the venue of the event.
As at the time the report was filed, the exact number of injured delegates had not been confirmed. However, it was gathered that the victims were rushed to hospitals in Lafia, where they received treatment.
Dan Morgan Ihomun, who serves as the Publicity Secretary of the Austin Agada faction of the APC in Benue State, confirmed the incident. He said the crash involved two vehicles but noted that no life was lost.
According to him, those who were injured had already been taken to the hospital for medical care, and the situation was under control.
This is not the first time such an unfortunate incident has occurred along the same route. It was reported that in March 2026, a similar crash claimed the lives of three APC delegates from Ogbadibo Local Government Area.
That earlier accident, which happened on March 25, involved a bus conveying delegates from Makurdi to Lafia for the APC North Central Zonal Congress. About ten other delegates were said to have sustained injuries in the crash.
The recurring nature of these accidents along the Makurdi to Lafia route has continued to raise concerns among party members and residents about road safety during political travels in the region.
