Barcelona Superstar Wins The MOTM Award After His Superb Display

According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 10, 2026, Barcelona secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Getafe in their La Liga encounter, with Lamine Yamal delivering an influential performance in the team’s attacking display.

The winger repeatedly troubled Getafe’s defence with his impressive dribbling, creativity and dangerous crosses, helping Hansi Flick’s side claim all three points at home.

Barcelona made an early breakthrough in the second minute when Anthony Gordon opened the scoring. After getting past several defenders, Gordon fired towards goal, with a deflection helping the ball cross the line to give the hosts an immediate advantage.

Yamal quickly emerged as one of Barcelona’s main attacking threats, using his movement and ability to beat defenders to create opportunities and keep Getafe’s backline under pressure.

The young winger came close to extending Barcelona’s lead in the 11th minute, but his effort from the edge of the penalty area went over the crossbar. Three minutes later, he delivered a corner that forced Getafe goalkeeper David Soria to intervene.

Barcelona doubled their advantage in the 30th minute through Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian forward produced an impressive individual move before calmly placing his shot into the bottom-left corner to make it 2-0.

Yamal continued to trouble Getafe after the break. He unleashed a powerful effort in the 55th minute, but a defender blocked the shot and conceded a corner. Seven minutes later, the winger created space for another attempt near the edge of the penalty area but narrowly missed the target.

The Barcelona star eventually made a decisive contribution in the 73rd minute when he delivered an excellent cross into the penalty area. Jules Kounde met the delivery and guided the ball into the bottom-right corner to complete Barcelona’s scoring.

Yamal’s creativity, persistent attacking threat and decisive assist made him one of the standout performers in the encounter. Although Gordon and Gabriel Jesus also found the net, the young winger played an important role in maintaining Barcelona’s attacking pressure throughout the match.

The comprehensive 3-0 victory secured three valuable points for Flick’s side, with Yamal’s performance further highlighting his importance to Barcelona’s attacking ambitions.
