Arsenal In Contact With Real Madrid Forward’s Camp Over Potential Transfer

According to a report by Madrid Universal on October 11, 2026, Arsenal have reportedly contacted the representatives of Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes over a possible transfer in the summer of 2027 as the Gunners continue to assess options to strengthen their attack.

The report, citing TEAMtalk via Bernabeu Digital, claims Arsenal had previously attempted to sign the Brazilian international before his injury, and their interest has now resurfaced ahead of a potential move.

Rodrygo’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu remains uncertain following a difficult spell involving inconsistent performances and a serious knee injury.

The 25-year-old suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture in March, which has kept him out of action for an extended period. He is expected to return in December or January, although Real Madrid will closely monitor his recovery and physical condition before deciding his role in the squad under manager Jose Mourinho.

Arsenal had also considered signing Rodrygo’s compatriot Vinicius Junior during the summer transfer window. However, their pursuit failed to advance after Vinicius committed his future to Real Madrid by signing a new long-term contract.

With that option seemingly unavailable, Arsenal’s reported interest in Rodrygo could offer the Premier League side another opportunity to reinforce their attacking options ahead of the 2027/28 campaign.

Despite the growing speculation, Real Madrid are reportedly not considering selling the former Santos forward during the January transfer window.

The Spanish giants want Rodrygo to regain full fitness and become available for the second half of the current season before making a decision about his future.

His performances after returning from injury are expected to play an important role in determining whether he remains part of Mourinho’s long-term plans at the club.

Real Madrid could consider a summer departure if Rodrygo struggles to secure regular playing time. However, the club may also decide to retain the Brazilian if he proves capable of making a significant contribution to the team.
