The All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, with its Director of Women Mobilisation, Dr Betta Edu, joining party leaders to receive First Lady Oluremi Tinubu at the North-Central mega rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
The rally, held on Saturday, October 10, brought together party leaders, women’s groups, supporters and other stakeholders to demonstrate support for President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima’s re-election bid.
Edu, who coordinates women’s mobilisation for the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), is leading efforts to expand the party’s grassroots support among women across the country.
The directorate, operating under the supervision of the First Lady, is targeting 40 million women’s votes through a mobilisation strategy covering 176,846 communities and polling units nationwide.
The initiative is designed to strengthen women’s participation in the APC’s political activities across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory ahead of the 2027 elections.
The campaign is anchored on the party’s Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0, with the theme, From Reforms to Prosperity, as the APC seeks to consolidate its grassroots structures and build support for another term for President Tinubu.
The Nasarawa rally forms part of the party’s wider mobilisation efforts as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
