4 held for blackmailing girl with explicit images, death threats

ISLAMABAD –  Four men accused of recording and circulating sexually explicit pictures and videos of a young woman, blackmailing her and threatening to kill her have been sent on three days’ physical remand to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). The accused are Noman Niaz, Asad Ullah, Sami Ullah and Sibtain Ali, all residents of Chak Shehzad, Islamabad. According to Investigating Officer Sub-Inspector Babar Ali, they illegally recorded and kept objectionable pictures and videos of the complainant’s daughter. Noman Niaz allegedly created WhatsApp groups named “nomi & Rameeza” and “Nomi & Zameera Khan” from his personal account, uploaded the material there and added the woman’s family members to the groups.

The IO alleged that Noman Niaz also sent threatening voice notes to the woman and her family through several phone numbers, blackmailed and harassed her, and threatened to kill her, causing severe mental distress. He said that during the inquiry, two of the SIMs used were found registered in his name, while the others were registered in the names of other persons. A judicial magistrate in Islamabad on Saturday granted the NCCIA three days’ physical remand of each accused, subject to medical examination before and after the remand. Sub-Inspector Babar Ali had sought 10 days. The accused have been ordered to be produced in court on October 13.

The court noted that medical reports submitted in line with its earlier order showed no sign of physical torture. It observed that it was the first remand and the case was at an early stage, and allowed the custody to complete the investigation and effect recovery. The case, FIR No. 169/2025, was registered on October 9 under Sections 20 (violation of privacy), 21 and 24 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016, read with Sections 506(ii) and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code. A copy of the order has been sent to the Sessions Judge (West), Islamabad.
