2027: OBJ And Rotimi Amaechi Know Atiku Very Well, He Will Never Be President – Bayo Onanuga

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, has criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who is associated with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), arguing that he will never become Nigeria’s president.

Onanuga made the remarks in a post published on his official X account on Sunday, October 11, 2026. He based his position on previous comments attributed to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi.

According to Onanuga, Obasanjo had questioned Atiku’s judgement, while Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation, had reportedly described the former vice president as unelectable.

Onanuga cited these remarks as evidence supporting his argument that Atiku’s ambition to become president would not succeed.

The presidential aide’s comments have since sparked debate on social media, attracting different reactions from users. While some commenters agreed with the points he raised, others questioned the intentions behind his criticism, reflecting the divisions surrounding the ongoing political discourse.

Onanuga’s post has continued to draw attention, with social media users expressing their views on the comments attributed to Obasanjo and Amaechi and their possible implications for Atiku’s presidential aspirations.
