Kundi, Naqvi meet president to discuss law and order

President Asif Ali Zardari was briefed on the country’s overall security situation, particularly the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during a meeting with KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Interior Minister Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.

The meeting covered security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and law and order across the country.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said there was no longer any room to avoid imposing an emergency, adding that he had made every possible effort to prevent the situation from reaching this point.

Speaking to the media, Naqvi urged reporters to ask Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman how hard he had tried to resolve the matter.

“I tried until the very last moment, but I have nothing left to do,” he said.

Naqvi also asked reporters to speak to Barrister Gohar Ali Khan about the efforts he had made.
