“Why Is His Picture All Over The School?” – Daniel Regha Slams VDM Over ₦50m School Murals

Media personality Daniel Regha has criticised social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) over the reported ₦50 million spent on murals at the school project funded by Afrobeats singer Burna Boy.

Reacting to the development, Regha questioned VDM’s decision to spend such a significant amount on paintings, while also criticising the repeated display of their pictures around the school.

In his post, he wrote: “VDM reportedly took about N50m out of the N250m provided by Burna to do unreasonab’e drawings, (mural painting to be exact) on the school project; And as if that’s not bad enough, he had the paintings of Burna, and himself repeatedly displayed around the school.”

He continued: “Again, that’s N50m, so what makes him different from govt contractors and bad leaders who misuse public funds? And why is his picture and that of Burna there, if he wanted to honor Burna, do a simple commemorative plaque or a statue of Burna. School premesis should have artworks that relate to learning, not a means to glorify oneself.”

Regha also questioned the quality of the school, asking: “That school is also far from standard, the China he often goes to, is that how their schools look like? Will Burna himself allow his child school there in the future? So why call it standard.”

He further demanded accountability over other donations, asking: “And what about other donations from the likes of Don Jazzy and co, how have that been spent, on what projects, and why? Let’s know.”

His comments have drawn mixed reactions on X, with some users questioning his criticism while others defended his call for accountability.
