Westbound traffic on President Street is shut down following a traffic accident, according to the Savannah Police Department.

In a social media post, police said the closure affects the stretch of President Street between Capital Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and find an alternate route.
