According to a source who shared information about the incident with SA Trucker, it happened on the R72 just after Port Alfred, towards East London on Friday afternoon.

The incident was captured on video by a trucker travelling behind the targeted vehicle. The footage shows two suspects on top of a trailer that appears to be transporting butternuts.

The suspects can be seen helping themselves to the cargo, packing the stolen produce into backpacks and sacks while the truck continues moving.

After spending some time looting the load, the pair appear to decide it is time to get off the trailer.

One suspect carefully makes his way down from the top of the stacked crates onto the trailer, where he waits to jump off.

His accomplice, however, appears to have a far more difficult exit.

With a backpack on his back, the second suspect grabs a sack filled with the stolen produce before attempting to jump down from the top of the crates.

He appears to miss his footing, leaving him hanging head down, with one foot trapped between two pallets.

The video ends while the suspect is still stuck in the awkward and potentially dangerous position. It remains unclear whether he managed to free himself or what ultimately happened to him.

The footage highlights the risks associated with cargo theft, particularly when criminals target trucks while they are moving. Such incidents can also create dangerous situations for truck drivers and other road users.

SA Trucker could not independently verify the circumstances surrounding the incident or establish the outcome for the suspect.
