Turkey: What Galatasaray coach said as Osimhen returns with assist in 3-1 win over Kasimpasa
According to a report from Daily Post Nigeria, on Saturday October 10, 2026, Victor Osimhen returned from injury on Friday, helping Galatasaray secure a 3–1 victory over Kasimpasa at Rams Park. The Nigerian striker came on late in the match and assisted Mario Lemina’s goal in the closing stages.
Osimhen had been sidelined after picking up an injury during Galatasaray’s 3–2 win over Istanbul Başakşehir in September. He replaced Deniz Gul with 13 minutes remaining and quickly created several chances as his side looked to strengthen its lead.
After the match, assistant coach İrfan Saraloğlu said Galatasaray had become more defensive after Lucas Torreira was sent off in the 65th minute. He added that the team’s tactical shape was disrupted and that the opposition exploited space before scoring.
Saraloğlu also explained that Osimhen’s late introduction was intended to manage his workload carefully. The forward had only recently recovered, and the club wanted to reduce the risk of another injury while considering the demands on players returning from international duty.
Osimhen will now look to build on his comeback and continue his strong start to the 2026/27 season. Before his injury, he had scored six goals and provided two assists in four matches.
