Syria’s Chargé d’affaires visits Lebanon’s Bekaa region to strengthen cooperation
Beirut, Oct. 10 (SANA) Syria’s chargé d’affaires in Beirut, Iyad Hazzaa, toured Lebanon’s Bekaa region to explore new avenues for field cooperation and direct coordination with local stakeholders, strengthen economic and development partnerships, and support productive activity between the region and Syrian governorates.
The visit also aimed to follow up on the living and social conditions of the Syrian community in the Bekaa and build bridges of communication and cooperation with the region’s political, religious and community leaders to reinforce civil peace and address current challenges.
The tour included visits to the Dar al-Fatwa and St. Maron Church, where Hazzaa met Mufti Ali al-Ghazawi in the presence of a number of religious scholars and political, economic and social figures. He also met Bishop Joseph Mouawad in the presence of representatives of churches in Zahle.
Hazzaa’s tour also included a visit to the Chamber of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce and concluded with a meeting with members of the Syrian community in the Bekaa.A/Dh
