President William Ruto on Saturday inspected the Endebess Sub-County Hospital Mother and Child Complex in Trans Nzoia County as he reviewed ongoing development projects during his tour of the region.

Ruto was joined by Environment CS Deborah Barasa and Medical Services Principal Secretary Ouma Oluga during the inspection of the facility, which is among the healthcare projects being undertaken in the county.

The visit formed part of the President’s wider tour of Trans Nzoia, where he also assessed the progress of infrastructure projects, including roads, while outlining plans for further investment in healthcare and other sectors.

During a rally in Endebess, Ruto assured residents that the government would continue investing in the county and would not allow Trans Nzoia to lag behind in development.

“I want to assure you that I will not allow Trans Nzoia to be left behind. I will not accept that,” Ruto said.

He said his administration had allocated resources to improve healthcare infrastructure in the region, including funding for the expansion and construction of hospitals.

He directed that the facility be completed by December, ahead of its official opening in January or February 2027.

The President said the investment would improve access to healthcare services for residents and complement other projects being implemented across the county.

He also outlined plans for healthcare facilities in neighbouring counties, saying Sh8 billion had been set aside for the construction of a hospital in Bungoma, while an additional Sh1 billion had been allocated for a hospital in Kakamega.

Beyond healthcare, Ruto highlighted investments in roads, electricity, markets and housing, saying the projects were part of the government’s broader development programme.
