Regina Daniels celebrates birthday on wheelchair

Popular Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, has marked her 25th birthday in a wheelchair after months of severe pain and difficulty moving, revealing that she is making progress in her recovery.

The mother of two shared the health update in an Instagram video posted on Saturday, explaining that her condition had affected her mobility and kept her away from social media for an extended period.

She said what began as a minor health problem gradually worsened, leaving her struggling with excruciating pain and, at times, unable to walk.

ā€œI know many of you may be surprised seeing me in a wheelchair. Well, welcome to another chapter of my life. Let me walk you through what my life has been since many of you have asked questions about my absence. So today is the perfect day to respond to those who genuinely care. For several months now, I have lost my freedom to move around as I please.

ā€œIt started as something minor, very minor, but eventually led to this. But things took a major turn after the last public gathering I hosted, my children’s day carnival. One test after another, I jokingly started calling myself elaborate. The pain became- how can I explain this? The pain became excruciating. Sometimes I can walk, and sometimes I can’t move. I cried.ā€

Daniels said the prolonged health challenges had forced her to confront the difficulties of depending on others for everyday activities, despite previously being full of energy.

She added that she was placing her hope in God for healing and peace, acknowledging the uncertainty surrounding her condition.

The actress said she decided to share her experience because she had made significant progress in her recovery.

ā€œWell, me sitting here today, in front of this camera, sharing this y’all, it’s because there’s been some really significant developments in my recovery. And I say, thank you, Lord. I decided to move somewhere closer to my loves, and most importantly, to my heart, my babies. At first, I rented this place.

ā€œBut from the moment I set foot here, I just, I just had this need to own. Now, here is the juiciest part. From the day I made a down payment on this house, everything in here came as a gift. Look at my furniture. I mean, this beautiful, timeless piece was gifted to me by an adorable woman who a very special somebody introduced me to. My hairstylist, Ellie.ā€

Beyond her health update, Daniels also expressed gratitude for what she described as God’s blessings in her life, saying she remained thankful for both her present circumstances and what the future held.

ā€œIn any situation I find myself, I will continuously give all glory and adoration to God Almighty for what He’s done in my life, what He’s doing, and what He’s yet to do. So help me, God.ā€

The birthday message comes months after Daniels spoke about her personal life following the breakdown of her marriage to Ned Nwoko, the senator representing Delta North.

In May, the actress ruled out remarrying after the collapse of the marriage.
