Osimhen Urges Galatasaray to Press Barcelona High Up the Pitch

According to a report by The Sun, October 10th, Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has called on his teammates to maintain their focus and apply pressure high up the pitch when they face Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.

Galatasaray are scheduled to host the Spanish giants at Rams Park on Tuesday as they prepare for the European fixture.

Osimhen made the remarks after Galatasaray recorded a 3-1 victory over Kasımpaşa in the Turkish Süper Lig on Friday. The Nigerian forward emphasised the importance of combining determination with a disciplined approach against a Barcelona side known for its ability to control possession.

Speaking to HT Spor, Osimhen explained that Galatasaray would need to put pressure on their opponents from the attacking areas while remaining resilient throughout the encounter.

He acknowledged the quality of Barcelona’s players and noted that his team must be prepared for the challenges that come with facing a side that keeps the ball for long periods.

Osimhen also expressed confidence in Galatasaray’s readiness for the match, saying the players would accept whatever outcome follows their efforts on the pitch.

The upcoming fixture presents another meeting between the two clubs, who last faced each other in European competition in 2022. Barcelona defeated Galatasaray 2-1 in the UEFA Europa League that year.
