Mike Tyson Makes Surprise Appearance Alongside Trump Outside the White House Ahead of New York Rally

According to a report by Fox News on Saturday, October 10, 2026, Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson made an unexpected appearance alongside United States President Donald Trump outside the White House, drawing attention as the president spoke with reporters on the South Lawn before departing for Syracuse, New York.

Tyson, one of the most recognisable figures in boxing history, stood beside Trump during the brief media interaction. His presence added an unusual moment to the president’s departure, as journalists gathered to hear his comments before the planned political event.

Trump was travelling to Syracuse to attend a midterm campaign rally in support of Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman, who is challenging incumbent Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul in the November election.

The rally is part of the broader political efforts surrounding the upcoming midterm elections, with Republicans seeking to strengthen their position and secure support for candidates across the country. Blakeman’s campaign against Hochul is expected to attract considerable attention as the contest develops.

Tyson’s appearance alongside Trump also sparked interest because of the former boxer’s status as a global sports personality. Known for his powerful performances in the ring and his larger-than-life public image, Tyson remains a prominent figure in popular culture long after his most successful years as a professional fighter.

Although the appearance took place before Trump’s departure for a political rally, no additional details were immediately available about Tyson’s reason for joining the president or whether he was expected to participate in the campaign event.

The moment nevertheless attracted attention, bringing together two well-known public figures from the worlds of politics and sport as Trump prepared to travel to New York to support Blakeman’s gubernatorial bid.
