LA LIGA: Barcelona Superstar Wins The MOTM Award After His Superb Performance

According to a report by BBC SPORT on Saturday October 10, 2026, Lamine Yamal delivered an impressive attacking performance as Barcelona defeated Getafe 3-0 in their La Liga encounter.

The winger played a key role in Barcelona’s attacking efforts, consistently troubling Getafe’s defence with his dribbling, creativity and dangerous deliveries. His contribution helped Hansi Flick’s side secure a convincing victory at home.

Barcelona took the lead in the second minute through Anthony Gordon, who drove past several defenders before firing towards goal. His effort took a deflection and found the back of the net, giving the hosts an early advantage.

Yamal subsequently became an important part of Barcelona’s attacking approach. The young winger looked to create opportunities through his movement and ability to take on defenders in one-on-one situations. His efforts forced Getafe to remain alert as Barcelona continued searching for additional goals.

In the 11th minute, Yamal attempted a shot from the edge of the penalty area, although his effort sailed over the crossbar. He also delivered a corner in the 14th minute, but Getafe goalkeeper David Soria intervened to prevent the delivery from creating danger.

Barcelona doubled their advantage in the 30th minute when Gabriel Jesus finished a superb individual move with a precise shot into the bottom-left corner. The goal gave the hosts greater control of the contest and put Getafe under further pressure.

Yamal continued to threaten after the restart. In the 55th minute, he unleashed a powerful effort towards goal, but a Getafe defender produced an important block to divert the ball behind for a corner. Seven minutes later, the winger created space near the edge of the penalty area and attempted another shot, narrowly missing the target.

His best contribution came in the 73rd minute when he delivered an excellent cross into the penalty area. Jules Kounde met the delivery with a well-placed finish into the bottom-right corner to complete Barcelona’s scoring.

Yamal’s creativity, persistent attacking threat and decisive assist made him a standout performer in the victory. Although Gordon and Gabriel Jesus also found the net, Yamal’s influence in the final third helped Barcelona maintain their attacking momentum throughout the encounter.
