Kangana Ranaut Calls Alleged ‘Anti-National Conspiracies’ a Serious Concern Amid CJP Protest
BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Saturday described what she called anti-national activities and alleged international conspiracies as a serious concern for India, claiming that attempts were being made under different pretexts to disrupt normal life and inconvenience citizens.
Ranaut made the remarks while speaking to reporters in Lucknow about the Cockroach Janata Party’s (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi against the Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The protest also seeks the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The actor-turned-politician alleged that forces working against the country’s interests were attempting to obstruct its normal functioning. She said such activities posed a challenge to the nation and its citizens.
“Anti-national elements, terrorist forces, and international conspiracies have become a serious concern for our country at this time,” Ranaut said, alleging that various attempts were being made to cause public inconvenience.
Invoking Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman, she expressed confidence that the government had public support and said citizens were increasingly coming forward to expose what she described as anti-national elements.
Ranaut also said that repeated attempts to disrupt the country’s functioning were a matter of concern. Her remarks included a reference to public anger against those she accused of acting against national interests.
Responding to a question about the INDIA bloc delegation’s meeting with President Droupadi Murmu, Ranaut said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had the right to seek an audience with the President but criticised the Opposition’s allegations concerning electoral processes.
Comparing the Opposition’s claims to excuses made by students who perform poorly in examinations, she suggested that complaints about electoral outcomes reflected frustration over repeated BJP victories.
“From bypolls to student elections, the BJP is winning everywhere, and that is why Rahul Gandhi is troubled,” Ranaut said.
The INDIA bloc delegation had met the President amid concerns raised by Opposition parties over the electoral process and allegations of irregularities during the SIR exercise. The CJP protest at Jantar Mantar has also focused on these issues and called for the CEC’s resignation.
