Israeli Settlers Accused of Abducting Three Palestinian Farmers as West Bank Olive Harvest Violence

According to a report by Al Jazeera on Saturday October 10, 2026, Israeli settlers have reportedly abducted three Palestinian farmers from their agricultural land near Nahalin, west of Bethlehem, as violence against olive harvesters intensifies across the occupied West Bank during the annual harvest season.

According to Al Jazeera, the three farmers were taken by settlers while working on their land. The incident comes amid growing concerns over attacks that have left Palestinian farmers injured and prevented many from accessing their agricultural properties.

The latest reports indicate that the violence extends beyond individual assaults, with Palestinian farmers facing threats, the destruction of olive trees, crop theft and restrictions on harvesting. Allegations of Israeli forces supporting or failing to prevent settler attacks have further heightened concerns among affected communities.

The olive harvest is a crucial source of income for thousands of Palestinian households, making access to farmland essential to their livelihoods. Repeated attacks and restrictions have threatened farmers’ ability to collect their crops and maintain their agricultural land.

Recent reports underline the scale of the problem. Al Jazeera reported on October 9 that Palestinian authorities had documented at least 19 settler attacks across the occupied West Bank in a single day, including assaults on farmers, the destruction of olive trees and the theft of crops and livestock.

On October 10, Palestinian news agency WAFA also reported that settlers attacked olive harvesters in Burqa, west of Ramallah, forcing farmers to leave their land and warning them against returning.

The reported abduction near Nahalin adds to mounting concerns over the safety of Palestinian farmers during the harvest season, as incidents of violence continue to threaten their livelihoods and access to agricultural land.
