Iranian electricity supply to Makran suspended for 11 hours

Electricity supply from Iran to various parts of Makran Division, including Gwadar, has remained suspended for the past 11 hours due to a fault in the transmission system, according to the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO).

QESCO officials said the main electricity supply from Iran was disrupted at 5 a.m., affecting several areas of Makran Division, including Kech, Panjgur, Tump and Gwadar.

The prolonged power outage has caused difficulties for residents and disrupted business activities in the affected areas.

According to QESCO, electricity supply from the national grid remains operational in the affected districts, providing an alternative source of power.

The executive engineer (XEN) of QESCO said electricity supply from the national grid station was continuing as of 11:40 a.m.

QESCO officials said a transmission line team was working in Mand to identify and rectify the fault affecting the electricity supply from Iran.

The fault is being traced along the Pakistan-Iran border, where technical teams are carrying out restoration work.

QESCO officials said efforts were underway to resolve the issue and restore electricity supply from Iran by tonight.
