How My Ex-husband Family Were Rejoicing That The Barren Witch Had Left The House — Actress Adesanya

Legendary Nollywood actress Toyosi Adesanya has recounted the painful experience she faced during her 15-year marriage, revealing how her former husband’s family allegedly called her a “barren witch” after she moved out of the house they built together. Adesanya made this revelation during an interview on Oyinmomo TV on Friday, October 9, 2026.

The veteran actress noted that traditional African beliefs have often placed the blame for infertility on women. “We are just getting enlightened. We have inculcated the habit of the Western world into our lives as Africans. Our schools of thought are different now,” she said.

According to Adesanya, the belief that infertility is primarily a woman’s problem has gradually been challenged as more people become aware that both partners can experience fertility difficulties. She stressed that women often bear the emotional consequences of infertility, making the experience particularly difficult for them.

Adesanya then recalled her experience in 2021, when she left Akure and moved out of the house she had built with her former husband, whom she said she had been married to for 15 years. “I remembered when I left Akure in the year 2021 and moved out of the house my ex-husband and I built. My husband of 15 years, we did a court wedding,” she recounted.

According to her account, her former husband expressed displeasure with his relatives for calling her a “barren witch” after she left their matrimonial home. “I remember that it was in Turkey then. I had a voice note he did, condemning his family for calling me a barren after I moved out of the house we both built,” she said.

Adesanya further recalled that her former husband had insisted that his family members would not live in the house, regardless of whatever disagreements or mistakes might have occurred in the marriage. “He said he didn’t care whatever I did wrong, that none of them was going to live in that house. They were rejoicing that the barren witch had left the house,” she added.

Reflecting on the experience, the actress expressed gratitude that the outcome of her life had challenged the negative labels and judgments she said she endured. “I am happy God proved he has the final say,” Adesanya declared.
