How I underwent five surgeries trying to conceive in 2022 — Actress Toyosi Adesanya

Nollywood actress Toyosi Adesanya has recounted her painful journey to motherhood, revealing that she underwent five surgeries in 2022 while trying to conceive.

The actress made this disclosure in an interview with Oyinmomo TV, where she spoke about her fertility struggles and the support she received from fellow actress Iyabo Ojo during some of the most difficult periods of her life.

According to Toyosi, the numerous procedures prompted her doctor to advise her to stop undergoing further surgeries.

“In 2022, I did five surgeries. I did so many surgeries my doctor told me, ‘Enough of this,’” she said.

The actress, who welcomed a baby girl with her husband, Bola Adejobi, in March 2026, also recounted how Iyabo stood by her during her struggle to conceive and the crisis in her previous marriage.

Toyosi recalled how Iyabo travelled to Akure in 2014 to confront her former husband and people she said were making life difficult for her.

Defending her loyalty to Iyabo, she said the actress had supported her during challenging moments, making it natural for her to reciprocate the kindness.

“Iyabo who stood by me when I was trying to conceive, Iyabo who came to Akure to fight for me in my previous marriage. On the 14th of February 2014, on Valentine’s Day, Iyabo called my ex-husband. She called the people who were making my life difficult in Akure. She asked if they wanted to kill me.

“So why wouldn’t I do my responsibility when her grandson is celebrating his birthday? I am not one of the people bloggers would use their sad story to feed,” she said.

Toyosi and her husband welcomed their first child through surrogacy in March 2026 after years of fertility struggles.

Actress Biola Adebayo announced the birth and revealed that the couple’s surrogacy journey began in 2024.
