EPL: Man Utd Superstar Wins The Man of The Match Award After His Impressive Performance

According to a report by Flashscore on Saturday October 10, 2026, Lisandro Martínez won the Man of the Match award after Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw against Tottenham, delivering a committed performance as both sides battled for victory at Old Trafford.

The Argentine defender contributed to United’s defensive efforts during a difficult first half, as Tottenham enjoyed greater possession and created several dangerous opportunities. His involvement helped the hosts manage pressure from their opponents throughout the opening period.

Tottenham threatened early through Dominic Solanke, whose third-minute effort was brilliantly saved by Senne Lammens. Mohammed Kudus also came close in the 21st minute, narrowly missing the target as Tottenham continued searching for an opening goal.

Martínez attempted to support United’s attacking play in the 44th minute, delivering a long pass towards Bruno Fernandes. However, Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky collected the ball, preventing the move from developing into a clear scoring opportunity.

Manchester United improved after the interval and eventually broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute. Matheus Cunha provided the pass inside the penalty area, allowing Bryan Mbeumo to finish accurately into the bottom-right corner.

United received another advantage when Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off in the 78th minute. Despite playing against ten men, the hosts could not protect their lead as Tottenham continued pushing forward for an equaliser.

Their persistence paid off in the 90th minute plus two, when Sandro Tonali delivered a cross for Dominic Solanke to head home. His finish into the right side of the net secured Tottenham a valuable point.

Although United surrendered their advantage late, Martínez’s contribution was recognised with the Man of the Match award. The defender’s efforts formed part of the team’s performance in a frustrating contest that ultimately ended with both sides sharing the points.
