District admin to set up facilitation centre at RCCI for business community

Rawalpindi  –  Punjab government is deeply committed to promoting industrial and commercial activities in Rawalpindi, with the establishment of an industrial zone along the Rawalpindi Ring Road remaining a top priority, Deputy Commissioner Captain (r) Nadeem Nasir said on Friday.

He made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation from the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) led by Chamber President Noshairwan Khalil Khan. The delegation included Senior Vice President Waseem Aslam, Vice President Ikram Abbasi, former president Raja Amir Iqbal, and members of the executive committee. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Revenue Tayyab Sami Khan, ADC Social Services Fazail Mudassir, and ADC Enforcement Abdul Rehman Khan were also present.

“The Rawalpindi Ring Road is a vital development project. Promoting industrial and economic activities along its route will not only generate new investment opportunities but also create significant employment,” the deputy commissioner highlighted.

He revealed that work is actively underway on relocating the vegetable, grain, and cattle markets near the Ring Road, alongside upgrading connecting feeder roads. These measures aim to organize trade activities and provide modern facilities to citizens and the business community.

To address business grievances efficiently, DC Nadeem Nasir proposed setting up a dedicated facilitation center at the RCCI in collaboration with the district administration. He assured the delegation that legitimate business concerns would be resolved on a priority basis and added that business leaders could reach him directly via phone for urgent matters.

The RCCI delegation appreciated the district administration’s initiatives, particularly the decision to clear No Objection Certificates (NOCs) within three days via facilitation desks and the commitment not to seal any business premises without prior permission.

The meeting also featured detailed discussions on resolving issues facing the Rawat Industrial Estate, upgrading access roads, and strengthening long-term administrative cooperation with the business community.
