Dept says heavy weapons, ammunition recovered after operation in Barkhan’s Rara Sham area
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has killed 10 terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the Rara Sham area of Barkhan, Balochistan.
According to the CTD, the operation was conducted on the basis of intelligence reports. Heavy weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed suspects, while two CTD personnel sustained injuries during the operation.
The CTD described the operation as a successful intelligence-based action against the group, saying the timely intervention helped thwart its alleged plans.
The department said security forces remained committed to the complete elimination of terrorists. The operation is being presented by officials as a significant step in efforts to counter terrorism and maintain law and order in Balochistan.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended CTD Balochistan for the operation in Barkhan and praised its professional capabilities in neutralising the 10 terrorists.
He said the department had thwarted the alleged nefarious designs of the group through timely action. He added that all institutions were committed to establishing peace in Balochistan.
Expressing pride in the CTD personnel, the interior minister said enemies of peace were being eliminated with the support of the nation. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the two personnel injured during the operation.
Babar Yousafzai, an aide to the Balochistan Home Department, also paid tribute to CTD personnel following the operation in Rara Sham, Barkhan.
Yousafzai described the intelligence-based operation as effective and said the CTD’s action against terrorists allegedly seeking to disrupt law and order in the province was commendable. He called the timely intervention a significant success against a terrorist network.
He warned that terrorists posed a threat to peace, development and public safety in Balochistan, adding that their malicious intentions would not be allowed to succeed.
Yousafzai praised the sacrifices made by the police, CTD and other security agencies in efforts to eradicate terrorism, describing their contributions as a source of pride.
He also saluted the courage and bravery of the CTD personnel injured in the line of duty. According to Yousafzai, the efforts of security agencies to establish peace and protect the lives and property of the public in Balochistan were worthy of appreciation.
He said the entire nation stood shoulder-to-shoulder with its security forces and police in the fight against terrorism.
Yousafzai added that operations against elements hostile to peace in Balochistan would continue, stressing that all institutions remained committed to the complete eradication of terrorism.
