Actor Imran Khan had joined the CJP protest in Mumbai along with his girlfriend Lekha Washington and cousin Zayn Marie. However, videos soon surfaced showing them being detained by the Mumbai Police. Lekha has now shared videos revealing their situation, claiming that the cops are not allowing them to return home or take a cab.

In the video, she informed her followers, “Folks, we have been detained. We are all in a cop car. I am going to send the pin. Can you please follow that? I have no idea where we are going. Let’s hope for the best.”

She later shared a video revealing how the cops are not letting them go home. “The cops are not letting us go home. We are randomly walking on the road, but they are not letting us catch any car or any vehicle.” She later shared a video stating they are all safe and heading home.

Apart from Lekha, Imran’s cousin Zayn Marie also shared a glimpse of them from the police van. She later shared a video poking fun at Imran. She compared Imran’s debut film ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ with his current situation. Refreshing your memory, Imran is arrested by the police in the movie as well.

Actor Imran Khan was detained by the Mumbai Police at August Kranti Maidan, the proposed protest venue in support of CJP’s protest in Delhi. Addressing the media, Imran said, “Sir, I don’t have any demands. I don’t have any status to demand anything from people. Nor am I a part of any organization, so I don’t speak as a representative.”

Soon after he was detained, the ‘Delhi Belly’ actor uploaded a picture on his official Instagram handle straight from the police van. He even added a hilarious caption, saying, ‘Apparently I’m going for a drive (sic).’

For those who do not know, a protest was reportedly organised for 3:30 PM on Saturday at Mumbai’s August Kranti Maidan under the banner of ‘Hum Bharat Ke Log’ (We, the People of India) to support the CJI movement at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Earlier, the protest was happening at Shivaji Park, which was joined by several celebs, including Shabana Azmi, Naseeruddin Shah, Vishal Dadlani and many others.
