Chelsea Seek Revival Against Winless Bournemouth

Chelsea will look to end their disappointing start to the Premier League season when they host winless Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge, with manager Xabi Alonso under pressure to turn the club’s fortunes around.

The Blues are 10th after a 3-0 defeat to Brentford before the international break, while Bournemouth are still searching for their first league victory after three draws and two defeats.

Chelsea’s biggest concern has been their defence, with 12 goals conceded in their opening five matches.

Another game conceding at least twice would see them become only the third team in Premier League history to do so in each of their first six matches.

However, Stamford Bridge has offered encouragement, with Chelsea unbeaten in four competitive home matches this season, winning three and scoring 14 goals.

The Blues also have a strong recent record against Bournemouth, having avoided defeat in their last nine Premier League meetings, winning four and drawing five.

The last three encounters have all ended in draws. Bournemouth, though, have shown promise despite their poor results.

They have taken the lead in four of their five league matches but failed to hold on for victory. Manager Marco Rose can also point to his side’s strong away record in 2026.

Bournemouth have collected 20 Premier League points on the road, while losing only once in their last 13 league matches in London.

Morgan Rogers will be one of Chelsea’s key attacking threats, while Bournemouth will look to Marcus Tavernier, who has scored seven of his last eight goals for the club away from home.
