Brutal Kansas City Saturday Stabbing Leaves Victim Dead

DESPITE STATS THAT SIGNAL HOMICIDE NUMBERS FALLING: DOES IT FEEL SAFER IN KANSAS CITY?!?

In fairness, that might be a loaded question given that locals have suffered RECORD BREAKING VIOLENCE.

Still . . . Thinking about public safety is important as we move closer to election season.

Here’s the info that police have shared with media a long with more reporting . . .  

This morning just after 9:30 AM officers were dispatched to the 4600 block of Chestnut Avenue on a reported cutting.Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male victim, lying on the front porch of a residence suffering from apparent stab wounds. EMS arrived on scene prior to officers and transported the victim to an area hospital for medical treatment with life-threatening injuries. Officers on scene were notified by medical staff that the victim had to come to his injuries and was subsequently declared deceased.Preliminary investigation indicates this incident occurred at an alternate location, and the victim traveled to the area he was located by officers. There is not currently any information that indicates what led up to this incident. We are working to identify a person of interest and do not currently have anyone in police custody. Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene to begin collecting any evidence and gathering witness statements. This incident is being investigated as a homicide at this time and is ongoing.If anyone was in the area and heard or saw anything or has any information they are asked to contact Homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS.
