Akrobeto Explains Why He Missed Apostle Safo Kantanka’s Funeral Despite His Close Bonds

Kumawood actor Akwasi Boadi, popularly known as Akrobeto, has explained why he was absent from the funeral of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

According to the veteran actor, his decision not to attend the funeral was based on a personal conversation he had with Apostle Safo before his death.

Speaking in a video shared by JoyNews on September 11, 2026, during the first-anniversary commemoration of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, Akrobeto said the late apostle had personally told him that he wanted only his son, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I, to bury him.

Akrobeto explained that he took the instruction seriously and chose to respect the wishes of the late apostle even after his passing.

The actor said his absence from the funeral should therefore not be interpreted as a sign of disrespect or a lack of concern for the family. Rather, he maintained that he stayed away because he wanted to honour what Apostle Safo had told him while he was still alive.

The revelation came as friends, associates and admirers gathered to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

Akrobeto’s explanation has provided insight into why he was not seen among the mourners at the funeral, despite his relationship with the late apostle.

Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka was known for his religious work, business activities and contributions to Ghanaian society. His death attracted widespread attention, with many people remembering his influence and legacy.
