A Colleagues Used My System Login To Commit Fraud, That Was How I Was Sacked from My Job— Arukwe
According to a video posted on Tea With Tay Podcast on Saturday October 10, 2026, actor Uzor Arukwe said colleagues at his former workplace used his system login to carry out illegal acts while he was away at auditions, and that this led to the loss of his job.
Mr. Arukwe spoke on the podcast about his years of balancing office work and acting.
He said he worked in retail sales and was on his way to becoming a manager, but he felt he was not meant to stay within the walls of an office.
He recalled a company training session in which a facilitator said that whatever a person does on the side will keep that person on the sidelines. He said the words stayed with him.
He said he was later fired. He described the reason as a long story, and said his employers believed he was not serious about his job because he was trying to be an actor.
In his words, Uzor Arukwe said, “So what happened, in a nutshell, was that one of those times that I would leave the office for auditions or a film, my colleagues, not my friends, my colleagues, would use my login and do some illegal stuff, 100 percent. That was facts.
“And then, of course, when the forensic investigation started, they found that my login was used multiple times to do that.
“That was how I lost my job. I said, ‘Okay, let me go to this thing that God has called me to do.’ This happened in 2012,” he said.
Mr. Arukwe did not state the exact nature of the illegal acts in the interview.
He said that after he left the job, he did not book an acting deal for a long time.
He said that between November 2012 and December 2013 he had not done a stage play or a film.
He said he later learned that life can be hard before a new season begins.
