15 Players Could Miss Man United Vs Tottenham As Michael Carrick Gives Injury Update
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has provided an injury update ahead of his side’s Premier League meeting with Tottenham Hotspur, with several players facing fitness concerns before Saturday’s encounter at Old Trafford.
According to a report by Manchester Evening News on Saturday, October 10, 2026, both clubs could be without several players for the match as they prepare to return to domestic action following the international break.
Manchester United will be without Patrick Dorgu and Noussair Mazraoui, who picked up injuries while representing their countries.
Dorgu is expected to spend several weeks on the sidelines, while Mazraoui remains a doubt after taking a knock.
“Patrick came off and looks like he’ll be out for probably a number of weeks,” Carrick said. “Nous [Mazraoui] came off and took a knock. He’s not quite right yet, so we’ll have to see how he is.”
Benjamin Sesko is also unavailable after withdrawing from the Slovenia squad with an injury. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo face late fitness assessments after leaving the England camp during the international break.
Carrick confirmed that Carlos Baleba and Amad Diallo had made progress in training, although neither player had featured for United this season. Rashford and Mainoo had also resumed limited training.
“Ben’s a little bit further away with the issue he’s got, so he won’t be ready,” the United manager added.
Matthijs de Ligt remains another concern as he continues his recovery from a back injury that has kept him out since November last year.
Manuel Ugarte is also a long-term absentee with a knee problem, while goalkeepers Karl Darlow and Tom Heaton have fitness concerns.
Tottenham will also be dealing with several absences under manager Roberto De Zerbi. Pedro Porro and Mykhailo Mudryk have been ruled out of the trip to Old Trafford, while Dejan Kulusevski, Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert remain long-term absentees.
James Maddison could be available, although he has suffered a setback after missing training time in recent days.
“He [Maddison] is available but he lost three/four days in the beginning of this week and the end of the last week,” De Zerbi said.
Spurs have received a boost with Jan Paul van Hecke and Micky van de Ven declared fit to start after recovering from knocks sustained during the international break.
