Wike:You Can’t Deny Fubara His Constitutional Responsibility, & Come Back & Ask Him For Peace–Savior Oscar
Following their visit to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s private residence in Port Harcourt, Savior Oscar, a youth leader, has expressed his doubts about the recent reconciliation efforts that have been undertaken by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and members of the Rainbow Coalition. According to Oscar, these efforts have been questioned.
Arise TV conducted an interview with Oscar, during which he discussed the political developments in Rivers State as well as the broader challenges that Nigerians are currently facing. Oscar expressed his position during the interview.
The youth leader argued that political negotiations should not become a distraction from the urgent economic and social challenges that citizens all over the country are currently facing. Furthermore, he asserts that a significant number of Nigerians are currently confronted with significant challenges, and they anticipate that political leaders will prioritize the enhancement of living conditions over the resolution of political disagreements.
Additionally, Oscar raised questions regarding the circumstances surrounding the reconciliation that took place between Governor Fubara, Wike, and his political associates that took place.
It was his suggestion that the procedure ought to be investigated in the context of the disagreements that had previously impeded the governor’s capacity to carry out the constitutional responsibilities that were assigned to him.
Oscar argued that it was incongruous for political actors to allegedly obstruct or impede a governor from carrying out the responsibilities that are associated with his office, and then to subsequently return to the governor in an effort to seek reconciliation in the name of peace.
A genuine attempt to resolve the political differences, he maintained, should respect the constitutional authority of the governor and ensure that the interests of residents of Rivers State remain at the center of the process. He also emphasized that the governor should be held accountable for his actions.
Moreover, Oscar emphasized that the process of political reconciliation should extend beyond meetings between influential politicians. According to his point of view, the ultimate goal of such efforts should be to establish a setting that enables elected officials to govern effectively and to address the requirements of the individual citizens.
He made the following statement: “You cannot deny a man his constitutional responsibility and then come back to him and ask for peace if you want to maintain peace.”
