” Watu Wameanza Kuhama UDA,” Kalonzo Reacts To Nakuru Senator Keroche Dumping Ruto For Gachagua

Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka has weighed in on Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja Keroche’s reported move from President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).

Speaking at a rally in Changamwe, Mombasa, Kalonzo pointed to the political shift as he addressed supporters about the country’s political direction and growing concerns over the government’s performance.

Before discussing politics, Kalonzo led the crowd in observing a moment of silence for members of St Matthew’s Catholic Church in Mikindani who reportedly died in a road accident.

He later criticised the government over road safety, arguing that more needed to be done to protect motorists and passengers on major highways. He called for the Mombasa–Nairobi highway to be upgraded to a dual carriageway, saying improved infrastructure should be a priority.

Kalonzo also raised concerns about public land near the Kenya Ports Authority and the site of a former oil refinery. He alleged that some individuals were interested in acquiring public property for private benefit, although the allegation was not independently verified in the account provided.

The Wiper leader also addressed the absence of several opposition figures. He said Gachagua was abroad, while Martha Karua was mourning the death of her father.

Kalonzo used the rally to call for improved infrastructure, the protection of public resources and measures to ease the economic pressure facing Kenyans.

Keroche’s reported political move comes amid discussions about party loyalties and possible alliances ahead of the next general election. Whether it signals a wider shift among UDA members remains to be seen.

The Changamwe rally provided Kalonzo with an opportunity to criticise the government and outline some of the priorities he believes should receive greater attention, particularly road safety and the management of public land.
