Two Namo Bharat Stations in Delhi to Remain Closed Ahead of CJP Protest; NCRTC Issues Advisory

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has issued a passenger advisory announcing the temporary closure of two Namo Bharat stations in Delhi ahead of the proposed Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10.

According to the advisory, Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat stations will remain closed from 9 p.m. on October 9 until 10 p.m. on October 10. During this period, passengers will not be able to board or alight at either station.

The NCRTC has advised commuters to plan their journeys in advance and make alternative travel arrangements to avoid inconvenience.

The corporation clarified that Namo Bharat train services between Anand Vihar in Delhi and Modipuram in Uttar Pradesh will continue to operate according to their regular timetable. However, boarding and alighting facilities will remain unavailable at Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar stations for the duration of the restrictions.

“Travellers commuting to or from Delhi, particularly on October 10, are advised to set out with extra time and arrange for alternative travel options to reach their destinations,” the advisory stated.

The temporary closures have been announced in view of the proposed demonstration at Jantar Mantar, with the stated aim of ensuring passenger safety and maintaining smooth transport operations.

The CJP-led protest is scheduled for October 10 over the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive and allegations of vote theft. The proposed demonstration has also received support from other political parties.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that entry and exit at 57 Metro stations will remain closed from 9 p.m. on Friday and throughout October 10, until further notice.

According to the DMRC communication, interchange facilities will continue to be available at all affected stations, except New Delhi Metro station.

Commuters travelling through Delhi have been advised to account for the temporary transport restrictions and make suitable arrangements to reach their destinations.
