Supreme Court: For post-split suicide, can’t always accuse ex of abetment

File photo: Supreme CourtNEW DELHI: Supreme Court has held that when the break-up of a relationship ends in suicide, it cannot always be termed abetment and a former partner prosecuted. A bench of Justices J B Pardiwala and K Vinod Chandran quashed criminal proceedings against a man and five of his family members who were being prosecuted for abetment after his live-in partner died by suicide after they broke up.
