Super Eagles stars co-sign Fola for second studio album “9”

According to a report by Soccernet on Friday, October 9, 2026, Super Eagles stars Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface have joined former Nigeria international Odion Ighalo in endorsing Nigerian singer Fola’s second studio album, “9”, following its release on Friday, October 9, 2026.

The three Nigerian forwards shared videos on social media encouraging fans to check out the new project.

Fola, who rose to mainstream prominence in 2024 following the success of his hit single “Alone”, has continued to build his reputation in the Nigerian Afrobeats scene.

The 27-year-old University of Lagos graduate released his debut studio album, Catharsis, last year.

The project featured tracks including “Disco”, “Lost”, “You” and “Eko” and has accumulated more than 300 million streams on Spotify.

His latest album, 9, contains 14 tracks and features prominent Nigerian and international music acts, including BNXN, Darkoo, Bella Shmurda, and Zlatan.

The project has already generated significant attention, reaching the top spot on Apple Music Nigeria’s Top Albums Chart on its release day.

Osimhen, Boniface and Ighalo’s endorsements have added to the album’s visibility, with the football stars using their social media platforms to promote the singer’s latest work.

While Osimhen and Boniface remain active in professional football and are pursuing further success with their respective clubs, Ighalo has been without a club since leaving Saudi Arabian side Al-Wehda last year.

The Super Eagles stars’ endorsement highlights the close ties between Nigeria’s football and music scenes, with prominent figures from both industries often showing support for one another on social media.
