Small shrimp dragnets raise concerns over juvenile catch, seabed damage along AP coast: Study

Visakhapatnam : Small shrimp dragnets operating along the Andhra Pradesh coast are catching juvenile fish and undersized shrimp, including females nearing spawning, while disturbing seabed habitats, a study by ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) researchers has found. The findings raise concerns over the impact of the fishing practice on marine life and future fish stocks.
