Othello man arrested on DUI charge after high-speed chase
A man is in jail on charges of attempting to elude the police after leading deputies on a high-speed chase on the outskirts of Othello on Wednesday night, Adams County deputies said.
OTHELLO, Wash. – A man is in jail on charges of attempting to elude the police after leading deputies on a high-speed chase on the outskirts of Othello on Wednesday night, Adams County deputies said.
According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, at about 11:33 p.m. on October 7 deputies responded to a reported traffic hazard near west Hampton Road and south Reynolds Road, south of Othello. Deputies said a caller had told them a white Chevrolet Silverado had been swerving across the roadway with its hazard lights activated.
ACSO deputies said they found the vehicle on south Reynolds Road, but the driver did not pull over when they tried to stop him. Deputies said the driver sped away, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour while law enforcement gave chase.
Deputies said they followed the speeding driver as he turned onto west Bench Road, then onto Highway 26, until he came to a stop on south Saddle Road.
Deputies surrounded the vehicle and arrested the suspect, identified as a 28-year-old Othello man. The suspect was sent to the Adams County Jail on charges including attempting to elude police, reckless driving, and driving under the influence.
