The incident reportedly involved a train travelling towards Agege and the man’s vehicle, which was extensively damaged in the collision.

According to report, the driver survived the accident despite the damage sustained by his car.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said its operatives, working alongside security personnel, rescued the driver and cleared the wrecked vehicle from the railway tracks.

The operation allowed the train to continue its journey after the obstruction was removed.

Reacting to the incident, LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, urged motorists to exercise caution when approaching railway crossings.

He warned drivers against attempting to cross railway tracks when a train is approaching or already in motion, stressing that compliance with railway safety rules is essential to preventing accidents and protecting lives.

The incident highlights the dangers motorists face when crossing railway tracks without exercising adequate caution.

Although the driver escaped without injuries, the extensive damage to his vehicle serves as a reminder of the potentially devastating consequences of collisions involving trains.
