KPLC Announces Counties To Receive Power Blackout Tomorrow, Details
Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity outages in parts of Trans Nzoia and Uasin Gishu counties on Saturday, October 10, 2026, affecting homes, businesses and other electricity customers.
In a notice issued on Friday, October 9, the power distributor said the interruptions would run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. as part of planned maintenance.
In Trans Nzoia County, the affected areas include Moisbridge, Chukura, Matunda, Kapkoi and Kona Mbaya.
Other areas listed in the notice are Moisbridge Centre, Konambaya, Loreto Chukura, Matunda Centre, Moisbridge Secondary School, Moisbridge Quarry, Milimani, Moisbridge Cereals and Cropack.
Customers in Kapkoi and neighbouring areas will also experience the scheduled interruption.
In Uasin Gishu County, the outage will affect Pan Paper Market, Nzoia Quarry and Lwanda, alongside Pan Paper Market, Marula, St. Gabriel, KMTC Lugari, Saleh and Nabemo.
Kenya Power advised customers in the affected locations to plan their activities around the eight-hour interruption.
Separately, the company announced a temporary disruption to its telephone-based contact centre services on Sunday, October 11, due to scheduled system maintenance.
The maintenance will take place between midnight and 5:00 a.m., during which customers will be unable to reach the contact centre through telephone calls.
However, Kenya Power said other communication channels would remain operational, including email, social media, the *977# service and the MyPower App.
The company apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused by the planned maintenance activities.
Customers in the affected counties are advised to check the outage notice carefully to establish whether their specific locations will be affected.
