A Google result fuels a name claim that remains unconfirmed.

Kay Adams drew a new round of attention on X after a user claimed she changed her name.

Click for sound 0:00 / 0:00 Chad Fisher posted his claim on X.

“Kay Adams changed her name from Dorothy Konopka because nobody hot has ever been named Dorothy,” he wrote.

His post includes a screenshot of a Google AI search for “kay adams real name.” The result reads “Kay Adams’ real name is Dorothy Konopka.” It adds that she uses “Kay Adams” as “a stage name for her broadcast and television career.”

The post provides no source beyond that search result, and the name remains unverified.

The post comes after a busy stretch for Adams. In September, she criticized the Patriots over Romeo Doubs wearing No. 87 while speaking with Rob Gronkowski. Fans also reacted to her look and voice in a Bruce Arians interview on Up & Adams.

A Google search does bring this up. It repeats the name and lists her birth date as April 6, 1986, in Chicago.

Google credits Wikipedia for the answer. However, Wikipedia’s page on Adams lists the same birth date and birthplace but no birth name. It does not mention a name change, either.

Several low-quality bio sites do list the name. One NewsBreak post from January 2025 repeats it and points to another website as its source. None of them cites an interview, a document or a major outlet. Consequently, the claim may spread from site to site without an original source.

Fisher’s claim rests on a search result with its own accuracy warning. A confirmation would have to come from Adams, official records or a credible outlet. Until then, the name remains an unverified claim.
