Jantar Mantar Protest: Railways Cancels Trains to Delhi Stations, Reschedules Two Rajdhani Services
The disruptions will affect services scheduled to arrive at the two stations between 4 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Ministry of Railways said the precautionary measures were intended to minimise inconvenience to passengers amid the expected congestion.
According to the ministry, all Mail and Express trains departing from their originating stations after 2 p.m. on October 9 and scheduled to arrive at New Delhi or Hazrat Nizamuddin between 4 a.m. and 2 p.m. on October 10 have been cancelled at source.
Eastern Railway has separately cancelled two Rajdhani Express services departing from West Bengal on Friday: the 12301 Howrah–New Delhi Rajdhani Express and the 12313 Sealdah–New Delhi Rajdhani Express.
Both services have been rescheduled by five hours.
Separately, Delhi Police have warned against unauthorised gatherings ahead of the proposed CJP protest on October 10. Police said restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) are in force in the New Delhi area and warned that violations would invite legal action.
Passengers are advised to verify their train’s latest status before travelling.
