It Is Only A Madman That Can Vote For Tinubu, If You Are Not Mad, Then Tinubu Should Not Win–Amaechi

According to a report by The Cable on Thursday, October 8, 2026, Rotimi Amaechi, vice-presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has condemned President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, describing them as reckless and urging Nigerians to vote against his re-election in the 2027 general elections.

Amaechi argued that the policies introduced by the Tinubu administration had worsened economic hardship across the country. He called on Nigerians to express their dissatisfaction with the government through their votes in the forthcoming election.

The former Rivers State governor made the remarks on Thursday during an ADC town hall meeting in Edo State, where he addressed party members and other attendees ahead of the 2027 elections.

During the gathering, Amaechi strongly criticised Tinubu’s leadership, insisting that the president should not be given another term in office. He accused the administration of implementing economic measures that had placed additional financial pressure on ordinary Nigerians.

He maintained that the difficulties citizens were experiencing should play a significant role in determining their choices during the next presidential election. According to him, voters must consider whether the current administration deserves another opportunity to govern the country.

Amaechi urged Nigerians to reject Tinubu at the polls, describing the 2027 election as an opportunity for citizens to demonstrate their views on the president’s performance.

He also challenged voters in Edo State to examine the government’s economic policies and determine whether they had produced the improvements and relief Nigerians expected.

The ADC vice-presidential candidate further referred to discussions on social media concerning the 2027 elections and the number of Nigerians who might still support Tinubu despite the prevailing economic challenges.

Using the discussion to reinforce his position, Amaechi suggested that supporting the president’s re-election under the current circumstances was a decision he strongly opposed.

He specifically appealed to voters in Edo State to ensure that Tinubu did not emerge victorious in the state during the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking at the event, Amaechi said, “I read on social media that it is in 2027 that we will know how many madmen we have in Nigeria. It is only a madman that can vote for Tinubu,” Amaechi said. “If you are not mad, then Tinubu should not win here.”
