Join our Whatsapp channel Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 9 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Friday hailed the state cabinet decision to rename Jewar Airport after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing the move as far-reaching and historic. Speaking to reporters, the Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is representing Uttar Pradesh as a Member of Parliament from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency for the third consecutive term. “This decision of the Uttar Pradesh cabinet is far-reaching and historic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi Lok Sabha seat for the third consecutive time and is the Prime Minister of the country for the third time. The Jewar International Airport is named after him…” said Maurya. Alongside Keshav Prasad Maurya, other BJP leaders also praised the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet decision. UP Minister Suresh Khanna lauded Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for giving his consent to name Jewar Airport after Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the completion of 25 years of his public service to the country. “… Jewar Airport is named after Narendra Modi. We want to congratulate the Chief Minister that, on the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Modi’s service, he has given his consent to name Jewar Airport after the PM,” Khanna told reporters. Uttar Pradesh Government Minister Rakesh Sachan stated that the decision to rename Jewar Airport was unanimous, adding that everyone supported the proposal. “… The Council of Ministers has decided today that the Jewar Airport will be named Narendra Modi Airport, and everyone has agreed to it…” Sachan told ANI. Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Council of Ministers passed a resolution to name the Jewar International Airport in Gautam Buddha Nagar after Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Speaking at a press conference in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the Airport will officially be named ‘Narendra Modi International Airport’. The decision coincides with a resolution passed by the UP Cabinet honouring PM Modi on completing 25 years of continuous public service as the head of a government.Announcing the renaming of the Jewar Airport, the Chief Minister said, “The Uttar Pradesh Council of Ministers is grateful to the Prime Minister for gifting the state the Noida International Airport (Jewar); this is set to become Uttar Pradesh’s largest airport and, in the future, the country’s largest aviation hub. Consequently, the Council of Ministers has also passed a proposal to rename the Noida International Airport as the ‘Narendra Modi International Airport, Noida-Jewar’.”Terming PM Modi as “Karmayogi”, CM Yogi Adityanath credited Uttar Pradesh’s growth and renewed self-confidence to him, adding that the State Council will consistently prioritise development.”Under the guidance of ‘Karmayogi’ PM Modi, Uttar Pradesh is scaling new heights of all-round progress with renewed self-confidence. The UP Council of Ministers will always remain grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for consistently prioritising the state’s development,” he said. (ANI)
