Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has congratulated 25 researchers from Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, for securing a place in the prestigious list of the world’s top 2% scientists compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier. The achievement has brought recognition to Haryana’s academic and research community.

According to Saini, the researchers featured on the list include 15 faculty members and 10 research scholars from MDU. He described their inclusion as a matter of pride for the entire state and praised their contribution to scientific research and academic excellence.

In a message shared on social media, the chief minister extended his heartfelt congratulations to the selected scientists and researchers. He also wished them continued success and a bright future, acknowledging their achievement as a significant milestone for the university.

The Stanford–Elsevier ranking is widely recognised for identifying influential researchers based on standardised citation indicators and research impact. Its annual datasets cover scientists across a broad range of disciplines and assess their contributions through bibliometric measures.

The recognition highlights MDU Rohtak’s contribution to research and reinforces Haryana’s presence in the international academic landscape. The inclusion of both experienced faculty members and emerging research scholars also reflects the university’s research activity across different stages of academic careers.

Saini’s message celebrated the researchers’ accomplishment and underscored the importance of scientific inquiry, innovation and higher education in strengthening the state’s reputation. The achievement is expected to encourage students and researchers to pursue further academic work and contribute to scientific advancement.
