Change The Candidate Or You Loss 2028 Election – Prophet Owusu Bempah Warns NPP

Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to learn from its 2024 electoral defeat and avoid making similar mistakes during its upcoming presidential primaries.

According to Yen.com.gh, the founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries International made the remarks in a widely circulated TikTok video.

He warned that the NPP could spend many more years in opposition if it fails to understand the factors behind its previous defeat.

Owusu Bempah interpreted the party’s loss as a spiritual warning rather than an ordinary electoral setback.

He argued that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s defeat to President John Dramani Mahama suggested that the NPP had failed to choose the candidate preferred by God.

The preacher further pointed to the party’s failure to obtain 40% of the votes as evidence that something had gone wrong.

He claimed that some traditional supporters, including Asantes, did not turn out in full support of the party and urged its leaders to take the development seriously.

He advised NPP delegates to select the right candidate in the forthcoming presidential primaries, where Dr Bawumia and former MP Kennedy Ohene Agyapong are expected to be major contenders.

According to him, choosing the wrong candidate could expose the party to another defeat in the 2028 elections.

The comments have divided opinion among Ghanaians, with some agreeing with his warning while others remain firmly behind their preferred presidential candidates.
