Reports say Trump has found Leavitt’s successor.
Donald Trump’s search for a new White House press secretary appears to be over.
Click for sound 0:00 / 0:00 Karoline Leavitt announced in August that she would leave the job. Her exit followed the birth of her second child in May. She cited the job’s demands and time with her family.
Trump called her “one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office,” per Newsweek.
Leavitt’s farewell post also drew questions earlier over a “Made with AI” label.
Now, reports say Katie Zacharia is the pick to replace her. A White House official told the Washington Examiner, “She has been offered the position.”
The New York Post said the move “could upend the dynamics of Trump’s inner circle, due to Lewandowski and Grenell’s long-standing distaste for White House chief of staff Susie Wiles.” Katie has close ties to Corey Lewandowski from their time together at the DHS, and she currently works at Fix California, a conservative organization founded by Ric Grenell.
Zacharia is a conservative lawyer and commentator. She serves as a senior communications advisor at Trump Media & Technology Group. She also earned her law degree at Pepperdine University.

Zacharia is 41 and a mother of four. She served as the Republican National Committee’s press secretary in 2024.
Several details remain unclear, including whether Zacharia has accepted the position. A start date has not been reported either.
Leavitt, meanwhile, is moving on to a new role. Fox News announced on Oct. 5 that she will join the network as an on-air contributor on Nov. 1.
