Actor Defends Lil Win, Calls for an End to Attacks Against Kumawood Star
An actor has spoken out in defence of Kumawood actor Lil Win, calling on Ghanaians and members of the Kumawood industry to stop what he described as unnecessary attacks against the popular actor.
According to him, although he has personally criticised Lil Win in the past for allowing bloggers onto his movie sets, he believes the continuous attacks against the actor have gone too far.
He questioned why some Ghanaians, including Lil Win’s fellow Kumawood colleagues, appear to frequently criticise him and suggested that some of the hostility could be connected to the actor’s association with Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah.
The actor said he had seen videos in which some social media users made serious allegations against Lil Win, including claims that he was using rituals to cause the deaths of people. He challenged those making such accusations to provide evidence rather than spreading unsubstantiated claims online.
He further argued that personal disagreements with Adom Kyei-Duah should not automatically translate into hostility towards Lil Win because of their relationship.
While acknowledging that he personally does not support some aspects of the pastor’s ministry, particularly the sale of spiritual items, he said that personal reservations should not become a reason to attack people associated with the religious leader.
The actor, however, urged Lil Win to also make efforts to improve his relationship with colleagues within the Kumawood industry. He advised him to approach fellow actors respectfully, extend invitations politely and work towards building greater unity within the industry.
He encouraged Lil Win to remain focused on his career and allow his work to speak for itself.
The comments have added to ongoing discussions about divisions, disagreements and social media criticism within Ghana’s entertainment industry.
