A nation cheers as Emmerdale’s Sadie suffers in spectacular funeral showdown

Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) has finally discovered the truth about Jimmy King’s (Nick Miles) connection to Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) in Emmerdale.

For weeks now, Nicola has been under the impression her late husband Jimmy was in a secret relationship with Sadie for three years.

Sadie spun this story because she wanted to get close to Nicola and locate Jimmy’s hidden money. She had absolutely no problem watching Nicola fall apart and develop hatred for her partner, she just wanted to find the cash.

Yesterday, Sadie and sidekick Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) headed to the golf club to find Jimmy’s money. They weren’t able to get their hands on it – but that was because it had already been found.

It was revealed that Robert had gone to the golf club earlier in the day and found Jimmy’s £150k. He was thrilled, but Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) didn’t exactly feel the same.

As today’s episode opened, the village residents were getting ready for Jimmy’s funeral.

At the King household, while on Jimmy’s computer, Nicola and Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) had a snoop through his back up phone records, and then came across a very important voice note.

Jimmy told Sadie in the message that he was on his way to bring her some money, and that would be the final time they communicate. He noted that Nicola would kill him if she found out that he was speaking to Sadie, and then said that he absolutely ‘loves that woman to bits’.

This was exactly what Nicola needed to hear. The voice note proved that Jimmy and Sadie were secretly in contact, but Jimmy was just being nice and helping Sadie with her cash troubles – nothing else.

Nicola was completely relieved…but also very angry at Sadie.

At the graveyard, in front of absolutely everyone, Nicola took a bunch of flowers…and smacked Sadie with them again and again!

Sadie fell to the floor, completely humiliated.

Robert scooped Sadie up and took her away from the church.

She threatened to tell everyone about Robert nicking Jimmy’s money, but he knew that no-one would believe her.

Robert told Sadie to leave the village because no-one wants her around anymore.

While we know Sadie will exit, it won’t happen yet, as she will turn her attention to a new plan next week.

Sadie is going to join forces with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) to try and destroy Caleb and Ruby Miligan (William Ash and Beth Cordingly). Sadie wants Ruby’s man, while Joe wants the Miligans to experience nothing but misery after Dawn Taylor’s (Olivia Bromley) death.

Sadie and Joe working together makes for a dangerous dynamic – will they succeed with their plan?
