Shadrack Sibiya’s daughter pictured with a Louis Vuitton bag worth a reported R39,600

The daughter of suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya has drawn social-media criticism after being pictured carrying a Louis Vuitton handbag reportedly worth R39,600. The post uses the price of the designer bag to question the display of luxury by the family of a senior police official, arguing that the same amount could provide for a family of four for a year. The handbag’s reported price has not been independently verified in the sources found, while Sibiya himself is currently facing serious criminal allegations in a separate case.

The source stops short of explaining where the photograph was taken or when, since the post does not provide those details. It also does not say whether the daughter has commented on the criticism or whether the bag was a gift. Those details matter because they would establish the context of the photograph. Without them, the image shows only the bag and the reaction to it.

The reaction online included criticism of the display of luxury, with some saying the family of a senior police official facing serious allegations should not be seen carrying such an expensive item. Others said the daughter should not be held responsible for her father’s case and that the price of a handbag was not evidence of anything. The reaction focused on the family rather than on confirmed facts about the bag.

It has not been confirmed whether the handbag’s reported price is accurate or whether Sibiya’s daughter has responded to the criticism. The handbag’s reported price has not been independently verified in the sources found. The public is waiting for more information, because the image alone cannot establish the bag’s value or how it was obtained.
